MAGNOLIA, Ark. – In the final rodeo event of the fall season at Southern Arkansas last weekend, the men's team rode to a ninth place finish while the women earned points in the barrel racing event thanks to freshman
Ashton Finch who made it back to the short-go.
"The last few rodeos have been hard," Finch said. "My horse has been working but I was making mistakes that prevented us from making the short-go round. It felt so good to finally get it together and earn the team points. I feel confident for the spring semester and ready for the challenge now."John Mark Johnson earned the men's team 40 points in the bareback competition. He scored 63 points on Thursday night and placed fifth in the average."It looks like we are going to have a long break from rodeos in the spring with the first and all rodeos being held during the month of April 2016," head coach Shelli Benton said. "We are ready to get back on our practice schedule and realign our focus for competition next semester."
