Anthony Fernandez got revenge on his old team, completing a hat-trick in the 78th minute, to lift host Itawamba to a 5-1 north division opening win Friday afternoon.
Itawamba stayed unbeaten on the year at 5-0 (1-0 north) while Northwest dropped to 3-2 (0-1 north).
The Indians didn't waste any time taking control of the match, using the first of three Fernandez goals in the 7th minute for a 1-0 lead. The lead quickly grew to 3-0 with goals by Kit Huddleston and Fernandez again in the 15th and 19th minutes.

Mamadou Mbaye connected on a penalty kick in the 54th minute for the Rangers' lone goal and his third of the season.
Itawamba owned a 21-10 shot advantage, including 14-6 shots-on-goal.
Josh Delgado picked up nine saves in the match despite allowing five goals. Ben Schaefer had five saves for the Indians and allowed just one goal.
Northwest will return home on Tuesday, Sept. 9 for a 4 p.m. kickoff against Hinds.
