Northwest Drops Division Opener 5-1 at ICC

Box Score FULTON – Former Ranger Anthony Fernandez got revenge on his old team, completing a hat-trick in the 78th minute, to lift host Itawamba to a 5-1 north division opening win Friday afternoon.

Itawamba stayed unbeaten on the year at 5-0 (1-0 north) while Northwest dropped to 3-2 (0-1 north).

Trailing 4-0 in the second half, Waldorf College transfer Mamadou Mbaye connected on a penalty kick in the 54th minute for the Rangers' lone goal and his third of the season.

Josh Delgado picked up nine saves in the match despite allowing five goals. Ben Schaefer had five saves for the Indians and allowed just one goal.
