Box Score SENATOBIA – Trailing by a goal with just under 14 minutes to play in regulation,
Devin Stoeger connected on a penalty kick in the 77th minute to tie it and
Wyatt Sacks provided the game-winner in the 86th minute to lift Northwest to a 3-2 win over Meridian Tuesday afternoon at Ranger Soccer Field.
Northwest improved to 2-1 on the season with the win, while Meridian fell to 0-2.
The match got off to a disastrous start for the Rangers when Lyle Daugherty scored just 1:58 in to give Meridian an early 1-0 lead and Tyler Green followed 7 minutes later to make it 2-0 Eagles.

Thomas King assist brought it within 2-1 at the half for Northwest.
The game drew even at 2-2 on Stoeger's penalty kick in the 77th minute when Meridian fouled in the box. Stoeger
rifled his shot into the back of the net on the left side.
The Rangers then broke through in the 86th minute thanks to Sacks. The freshman dribbled into the far right corner and took on a defender and goalkeeper Hayden Grier, firing into the lower right corner for the game-winning goal.
In a match statistically dominated by the Rangers, Northwest out-shot Meridian 31-16 (15-6 shots-on-goal) and earned 10 corners to the Eagles' zero.
Josh Delgado needed four saves to earn his second career win, while Grier had an impressive effort in net for Meridian with 12 saves in the match.
Northwest will host Southwest Mississippi on Friday, Aug. 29 at 4 p.m.
