Box ScorePERKINSTON – The Northwest men's tennis team upset its fourth ranked opponent on Saturday, knocking off #21 Gulf Coast 6-3 to improve to 7-3 on the season.
Northwest got off to a great start with a 3-0 sweep in doubles play, taking three tight matches by 8-5, 9-7 and 8-6 finals. It marked a sixth time this year they've swept the doubles points.
The top three spots in singles play belonged to Northwest, with
Max Stanford defeating Matt Barlow 6-0, 6-1,
Joseph Shidler topping Travous Wilson 6-4, 6-3 and
Tyler Newman knocking off DeAngelo Vaxter 6-2, 7-5. MGCCC won No.'s 4-6 singles.
The Rangers return to action on Tuesday, April 8 at Northeast.
