Rangers Run Match Win Streak out to Three

SENATOBIA – Northwest won its third straight match in a span of five days, avenging an 8-1 loss to Northeast this fall by rolling to a 7-2 win at The ROC on Tuesday afternoon. 

Northwest improved to 5-2 overall and Northeast fell to 3-4. 

It was a clean sweep at doubles, 3-0, and at No.'s 1-4 singles. 

Weldon Meng/Tyler Newman won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles to cap the sweep while Jon Morgan Bell/Max Stanford and Christian Scott/Joseph Shidler each won their respective matches. 

Two singles matches went into a third-set tiebreak, with Bell coming out on the winning end 5-7, 6-3, 13-11 at No. 4 and Chip Malone falling on the wrong end 4-6, 7-6, 7-10 in the No. 6 position. Christian Scott put up a skunk at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Anderson Mills.

Northwest returns to action on Thursday at Holmes. First serve is set for noon.
