Men's Tennis Posts Two Wins in Two Days

vs Copiah-Lincoln | vs Hinds

SENATOBIA – The Northwest men's tennis team improved to 4-2 on the young season with back-to-back wins over Copiah-Lincoln and Hinds in consecutive days at The ROC. 

On Friday, Northwest avenged an earlier 5-4 loss at Co-Lin on Feb. 28 with a convincing 7-2 win.

Northwest swept the doubles points to go ahead 3-0 and followed that up with wins at No.'s 1-3 and No. 6 singles. Joseph Shidler, Christian Scott and Chip Malone cruised to wins by only dropping a six games.

Co-Lin's two wins came at No.'s 4-5 singles from Brandon Nettles and Coleman Carraway.

The Rangers beat Hinds for a second time this season in very competitive matches despite the final score.

Jon Morgan Bell/Max Stanford defeated Aaron Gray/Devonte Thomas at No. 1 doubles 9-8 (7-3) to help the Rangers sweep the doubles points 3-0.

Stanford, Shidler, Scott and Tyler Newman then all won at No.'s 1-4 singles to secure the win.

Northwest returns to action on Tuesday, March 25 against Northeast.
