Box Score FULTON – It wasn't meant to be for Northwest on Tuesday night in the MACJC Quarterfinals, as Jones County sprinted away from a five-point halftime lead to end the Lady Rangers' season with a 91-62 loss. 

Northwest closes the year at 12-9 overall, while the south's No. 1 seed JCJC improved to 17-7 advances to Wednesday's semifinal game against Pearl River.

In what was an exciting and close first half of action, Northwest led by as many as five, 16-11, at the 11:23-mark after Anna Rosenbaum's 3-pointer banked in from the right wing. Tenesha Woods would also add one from long range two possessions later.

But turnovers, as they would all night, proved to be costly for Northwest as JCJC took advantage of six in a 2:45 span to put together a 9-0 run and take a 31-22 lead. 

Northwest scored the final four of the half on Jacquelyn Brooks' jumper and two Leah Lytle free throws to pull within 37-32 at the half. 

The second half, however, belonged to JCJC. The Lady Bobcats put the game away with a 19-6 run to take a 56-38 lead at the 13:39-mark as Northwest went cold from the floor and missed seven of its first 10 shots. 

The lead grew to a game-high 29 with 3:35 to play.

JCJC forced 27 Lady Ranger turnovers that turned into 41 points on the other end and dominated on the glass with a 58-31 margin (29 offensive boards).

Caitlyn Spane (19 points, 16 rebounds) and Kaylan Hughes (16 points, 13 rebounds) took over for JCJC and were two of five Lady Bobcats in double figures.

Playing her final game at Northwest, Halle Knowles poured in a career and game-high 25 points to lead all Lady Rangers. Carshava Sutton added 13 and Woods finished with seven.
