WILMINGTON, N.C. – Redshirt sophomore inside linebacker
Terry Caldwell will continue his football career at Ole Miss, signing an NLI with the Rebels in his hometown of Wilmington on Wednesday.
Caldwell committed to the Rebels on Dec. 9 after defensive coordinator Dave Wommack visited Senatobia.
"Ole Miss was the offer I was waiting on," Caldwell said. "So right when they called with the offer, I had to accept it right then and there. This was the one school that I really wanted to go to and could see myself playing for."
Caldwell (6-2/220) is rated a 3-star prospect by
Scout and
247Sports and also held offers from TCU, Texas A&M, East Carolina, Old Dominion and North Texas before deciding on Ole Miss.
A UNC-Charlotte transfer and member of the 49ers' first-ever recruiting class and team, Caldwell shined in his lone season in Senatobia by leading the MACJC with 122 tackles (4th in the NJCAA) in addition to 12.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.0 sacks, five breakups, five quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.
Caldwell is the 29th Ranger to sign with the Rebels since 1987.
