Brianna Williams scored a career and game-high 27 points and was one of 14 Lady Rangers who scored in Northwest's 93-65 win over Hinds Thursday night at Howard Coliseum.
Northwest improved to 5-0 on the year while Hinds dropped to 0-4.
Hinds led by a field goal twice in the game's opening 1:54 before an 11-2 Northwest run, sparked by
Kristina Mays' second 3-pointer of the season, put the Lady Rangers in front 15-8.
Hinds continued to keep the game close the ensuing 13 minutes before another big Northwest run stretched its lead to 24 points minutes before the halftime horn sounded.
Northwest scored 14 second chance points in the first half and led 58-40.
A 16-2 run with 13:06 to play pushed the Lady Rangers' lead to a game-high 36 points, 89-53, and they cruised to the finish line for a fifth consecutive win.
Four Lady Rangers finished in double figures, led by Williams' 27, 12 from
Aspriona Gilbert, 11 from Mays and 10 from
Camia O'Neal. Northwest's bench scored a combined 58 points.
Northwest shot 37 percent for the game against 32 percent shooting for the Lady Bulldogs.
Hinds was led by 18 points from Erica Harris and 10 from Tyquisha Naylor.
The Lady Rangers return to action Nov. 19-21 during the Northwest Tri-States Classic. Northwest will welcome Lawson State and Southern-Shreveport to Howard Coliseum for a three-day tournament.
