Holmes Picks Up Season Sweep with a 2-0 Win over Northwest

SENATOBIA – The visiting Holmes Bulldogs used a goal from Hunter Warren just 4:46 in that proved to be enough as they kept their playoff hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Northwest.

Holmes improved to 10-3 overall and to 5-2 in the north division while Northwest dropped a third-straight match in falling to 4-6-1 overall and 0-5-1 in division play.

In a match that was controlled by the visitors, Northwest managed just two shots-on-goal the entire 90 minutes as goalkeeper Ryan Harris stopped both attempts.

After James Oliver's shot hit the post in the 30th minute, Cameron Lomonaco's one-touch goal from James Cockrell in the 68th minute provided the final 2-0 margin.

Sophomore Dylan Castoria led all Rangers with three shots. Taylor Thevenot (58:13) and Josh Delgado (31:47) split time between the posts and combined for five saves.

Northwest will look to get back on the winning track Friday as they travel to Itawamba for a 4 p.m. kick.
