SOUTHAVEN - Northwest Mississippi Community College women's tennis team (7-6) earn a ranked 8-1 win over #20 Bevill State (5-7) while the NWCC men's tennis team (7-6) fall 6-3 in a tough match against #15 Bevill State (8-6) on Wednesday afternoon at Snowden Grove Tennis Center in Southaven. 

After winning all three double courts, the women's team went into the singles matches with a comfortable 3-0 lead, a lead they would never relinquish. Northwest would go on to dominate on the majority of the singles courts, only losing one singles match and losing less than three games on four of the six singles courts.  

The standout match for the women was a tightly contested 9-7 doubles victory from freshmen Brooke Kicker and Ava McCain. This was a pivotal moment for the Rangers that allowed the women to carry momentum into the rest of the match. 

Although the men's team did not earn an overall victory, they were able to take three matches, including one doubles match and two singles matches. The doubles win came after a hard fought 8-6 on the #2 court from Jordan Mitchell and Holden Cooke. The two singles wins came from the #4 and #5 courts from Holden Cooke and Jordan Mitchell, respectively.  

The highlight of the men's match came from the dominant #4 and #5 singles victories. Across the two matches the Rangers only gave up seven games in four sets.  

The Rangers will travel to Wesson to take on conference foe Copiah-Lincoln on Friday, April 3 at the Co-Lin Tennis Complex in the last match of the regular season.
