SENATOBIA - Northwest Mississippi Community College women's (4-5) and men's (5-4) split a pair of matches against top 25 MACCC opponent East Central and top ten opponent Weatherford on Sophomore Day. Both teams clinched a 5-4 victory over East Central. The women were beaten by #8 Weatherford 6-3. The men were beaten by #10 Weatherford 8-1.  

In the conference match against ECCC, the women's team were able to clinch both the #2 and #3 doubles court. This allowed NWCC to head into the singles matches with a crucial advantage. Sophomores Meg Daves and Ava McCain, along with Freshman Brooke Kicker, were able to provide the Rangers with the necessary three match wins to earn the victory for Northwest. 

The men's team started in the exact same position as the women's team, earning victories in #2 and #3 doubles. It is no surprise that on Sophomore Day three sophomores in Holden Cooke, Jordan Mitchell, and Brady Holliman ended up clinching the match for Northwest with their victories in singles.  

The Rangers will head into Spring Break in good spirits and will look to continue building upon their momentum as they move through MACCC play.
