SENATOBIA - Northwest Mississippi Community College women's (3-4) and men's (4-3) suffer a tough defeat to top 15 ranked Coastal Alabama-South (#13 ranked women's team and #11 ranked men's team) by a score of 0-9 and 1-8, respectively. 

The highlight for the women's tennis team came from a doubles victory from the #1 doubles team of Claudia Lopez Chaparro and Laura Cámara Blanco. They outlasted the Coyotes' team of Neda Kocyte and Jescimiel Mabiongo in a tightly contested 8-6 victory. The team of Kocyte and Mabiongo had won three straight matches, but the Rangers were able to halt their winning streak. 

The NWCC men's team also saw success in doubles. Although they did not pick a win during the match, Jordan Mitchell and Holden Cooke played a tightly contested doubles match against the team of Coastal Alabama-South's Nils Guyot and Milan Olganon, losing in a seven-point tiebreak.  

This was the second of four NWCC tennis matches this week and the first of three in two days. The team will look to get back to winning ways and to take positive momentum into Spring Break.
