TEMPE, Ariz. - A stellar season for the Northwest men's and women's tennis programs ended on a high note, as the Rangers and Lady Rangers both finished within the Top 20 of the final ITA JUCO Rankings.
Northwest captured a No. 15 overall ranking in the final poll, while the Ranger men finished 17th, marking the highest final rankings for each program. Both teams also made the NJCAAÂ national tournament this season, with the Lady Rangers finishing 13th and the men's team earning a 16th-place finish.Â
This season was the second consecutive trip to the national tournament for the women's tennis program and the second in the last three seasons for the Northwest men's squad.
In the women's poll, Hillsborough (Fla.) topped the 25-team rankings, followed by Cowley (Kan.), Tyler Junior College (Texas), St. Petersburg (Fla.) and Eastern Florida State College in the top five. Jones College was the highest ranked MACCC program, capping off its season at No. 7, followed by Mississippi Gulf Coast at No. 12, 16th-ranked Hinds, No. 18 Meridian and 19th-ranked Itawamba.
Copiah-Lincoln and East Central rounded out the national rankings at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.
Tyler Junior College topped the men's national rankings, followed by Collin (Texas), Barton (Kan.), Pratt (Kan.) and Cowley in the top five. Jones College was the highest MACCC team ranked in the men's poll, checking in at No. 12, followed by Mississippi Gulf Coast at No. 13, 16th-ranked Itawamba and No. 19 Copiah-Lincoln.
Meridian and East Central rounded out the MACCC teams in the men's rankings, finishing at No. 22 and No. 24, respectively.
Northwest concluded the 2025 season with a 10-6 overall record in women's competition, including a 6-3 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Ranger men finished 11-6 on the season with a 7-3 record in the MACCC.
