Trio of Rangers Selected for All-MACCC Accolades

JACKSON - Following another winning season that yielded a postseason appearance, three members of the Northwest baseball team were chosen for Honorable Mention All-MACCC recognition, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced on Tuesday.

Sophomore infielder Levi Lang and freshman outfield duo Mason Gillentine and Mason McMillin were each chosen for honorable mention accolades, after all three players batted over .300 on the season and recorded fielding percentages .985 or better.

Lang, a native of Judsonia, Ark., developed into the Rangers' everyday first baseman as a freshman and largely retained that role throughout the duration of this season. He played and started in 49 of 51 games this season, batting .336 with 11 doubles, a triple, five home runs and 37 RBIs.

In the field, Lang recorded 268 putouts and 11 assists in 282 total chances, accruing a fielding percentage of .989, second only to his teammate McMillin in 75 chances or more.

Gillentine, a native of Mooreville, hit .305 for the season with 10 doubles, five triples, four home runs and 26 RBIs. He was second on the team in stolen bases, successfully stealing 19 bases on 23 attempts.

Largely rotating between center field and relief appearances on the mound, Gillentine finished with 59 putouts and six assists on 66 total chances, good for a .985 fielding percentage. He made seven appearances out of the bullpen, pitching 12 strikeouts against eight walks in 7.2 innings of work.

McMillin finished second on the team with a .329 batting average, which included six doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 37 RBIs. The freshman from Mooreville also finished fourth on the team in stolen bases, going 11-for-17 in that category.

Mostly used in left field this season, McMillin was credited with 69 putouts and six assists in 75 total chances, good for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Northwest finished the 2025 season with a 32-19 overall record and a 14-14 mark in conference play, falling to Meridian in the NJCAA Region 23 Play-In Game. The Rangers recorded their 10th 30-win season since the start of Mark Carson's head coaching tenure in 2006. This also marked back-to-back seasons with 30 wins.
