Lady Rangers Open Competition in NJCAA Division II Golf Championships

BOONE, Iowa - Northwest shot 79 over par and ranked 14th out of 15 competing teams following Tuesday's opening round of the NJCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships.

Freshman Carinton Davis recorded the highest opening round finish for the Lady Rangers, hitting +13 and ending the day at No. 33 on the player leaderboard. Kali Figueroa followed with a +15 finish, while Addison Forbes finished 20 over par and Zae'Ja Davis ended the day at +31.

Northwest will have plenty of chances to gain some ground in the team standings, as three more rounds remain between Wednesday and Friday. In the program's first season of competition, the Lady Rangers finished sixth in the NJCAA South District and was the only MACCC program to earn a bid to the national tournament.
