ELLISVILLE - Northwest women's tennis sophomore Mattie Sanders was recently selected to the All-MACCC Team during the Lady Rangers' run in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.

Sanders, a native of Hernando, posted an 8-3 record in singles competition during the regular season. All of her decisions came at No. 4 singles, including a 6-2 record against conference opponents.

Sanders was also 6-6 in doubles competition, going 4-3 when paired with freshman Laura Cámara Blanco. The duo went 2-2 in conference play, earning wins against 16th-ranked Itawamba and No. 23 East Central. She also won her only match when paired with Allie Rawles, as the duo took an 8-1 victory at Northeast back on February 18.

Sanders and the Lady Rangers were a mainstay in the ITA JUCO National Rankings this season and are currently still 18th in the nation. With a 10-6 overall record, Northwest has officially earned a bid to the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships, scheduled for May 3-7 in Tyler, Texas.
