Lady Rangers 21st in Latest ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - After being shunned in the preseason JUCO rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the Northwest women's tennis program has entered the national rankings at No. 21, the ITA announced Thursday afternoon.

Last season, the Lady Rangers entered the rankings at No. 21 in the first regular season poll as well. Seven other MACCC teams are included in this edition of the national rankings, highlighted by Jones College at No. 10, 12th-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast, No. 16 Itawamba, 19th-ranked Meridian, No. 20 Copiah-Lincoln, 23rd-ranked East Central and No. 24 Hinds.

Hillsborough (Fla.) tops the rankings at No. 1, followed at No. 2 by Tyler Junior College (Texas) and third-ranked Cowley (Kan.). Seward (Kan.) and Saint Petersburg (Fla.) round out the top five.

Northwest is off to a 2-0 start with shutout wins against Huntingdon College and Snead State. The Lady Rangers will host Rust College on Friday, February 7 at 11 A.M. for the 2025 home opener.
