Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SENATOBIA - For the second time in as many matches, Northwest battled in two close contests to conference-opening foe Copiah-Lincoln on Friday, with the Rangers and Lady Rangers scoring a pair of 5-4 wins against the nationally-ranked Wolves.

After being slotted at No. 21 in the latest ITA JUCO Rankings prior to the match, the win against No. 18 Copiah-Lincoln marked the first ranked win of the season for the Northwest women's team. Meanwhile, the Ranger men scored their first ranked victory as well, defeating the 20th-ranked Wolves.

Though the Lady Rangers dropped all three doubles matches, Northwest nearly swept the singles competition, winning all but one match. In men's doubles, NWCC took a 2-1 lead and clinched the match with singles wins on courts three, four and five.

With the conference-opening sweep, Northwest has identical records of 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the MACCC. The Rangers and Lady Rangers will take on Northeast on Tuesday afternoon.
