FULTON - After a battle with Wallace State Community College (2-0), the Northwest Mississippi Community College volleyball team (1-1) suffered their first defeat of the season, losing the match 3-1 (17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 17-25).
The team struggled offensively, never hitting above .121 and averaging .061 over the entire match.
Ariana Woods led the Rangers with 18 kills and was the only one who got to double figures.
NWCC once again shined from the service line, hitting nine aces for the second match in a row. Freshman Dallas White led the team with four aces. White also led Northwest in assists with 19 while Chloe Rodriguez added 13.
Woods led the team wit two blocks, one solo and one assisted.
Defensively, Jania Rose excelled, garnering a team leading 22 digs.
The Ranters will play their third match in the Mississippi/Alabama Crossover tournament Saturday, August 23 at 11 a.m.
