BOONEVILLE - Behind a balanced team effort, Northwest Mississippi Community College volleyball (5-2) swept Northeast Mississippi Community College (2-5) in their first MACCC game of the year.
Northwest won the first set 25-19, the second set 25-23, and dominated the third set 25-9 to close out the win.
Although no Ranger had double digit kills, five Rangers had at least five kills, led by Ariana Woods with eight kills while Aven Mathis and Daylin Johnson both had six.

Dallas White and Chloe Rodriguez combined for 28 of NWCC's 33 assists. White accumulated 18, while Rodriguez accumulated 10. Together, White and Rodriguez had more assists than the entire Northeast team.
The Rangers not only executed a balanced offense, they were able to put on a balanced defensive performance with three players garnering over five digs. Adalyn Callahan had nine, Jania Rose had eight, and Sailor Cole had seven.
The team will be back in action on the road in Ulin, Illinois, on Friday, August 29 at 1 p.m. when they take on the Lewis and Clark Community College Trailblazers (3-2).
