TYLER, Texas - After dropping her first match of the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis National Championships on Saturday, Northwest freshman Allie Rawles rebounded back to win the flight five singles consolation draw on Tuesday afternoon.

Rawles, a native of Winona, defeated Laura Kotala (USC-Sumter) by an 8-6 margin in the consolation finals match. She finished her national tournament run with a 3-1 singles record, earning victories in the consolation draw against Riley Dunn of Sauk Valley Community College (8-2), Alyssa Garcia of Lewis & Clark Community College (9-7) and Kotala.

Northwest also had the doubles tandem of Mattie Sanders and Grace Ann Wade competing in the consolation finals of flight two doubles, but the Lady Ranger duo fell 8-2 to Andjela Mrvaljevic and Andrea Pulido (Barton Community College).

Rawles finishes her freshman campaign with a 10-6 overall singles record, tying Wade's team-best 10-win mark in singles. Overall, the Lady Rangers finished the tournament with 10.5 team points, tying with Copiah-Lincoln for 16th place out of 28 competing teams.

This season, Northwest posted a 7-7 overall record with this being the program's first-ever national tournament appearance.
