Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SENATOBIA - After sweeping Southwest Mississippi in doubles competition, the Northwest men's tennis squad scored four more wins in singles, earning a 7-2 victory on Wednesday afternoon.

Additionally, the Lady Rangers took a 9-0 shutout from the Lady Bears, improving to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the MACCC.

Freshmen Joshua Tedford and Gabriel Koonce combined for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, and both players scored respective wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Tedford took a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Phillip Chandler, as Koonce delivered a 6-3, 6-2 triumph against Jackson Stanford.

Dallas Lane and Spencer Rios also collected an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, with Lane also scoring a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles against Jacob Fairley. Meanwhile, Rios battled for a 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (5) win at No. 3 singles against the Bears' Alex Velasquez. Rios, a Corpus Christi, Texas native, fell 7-4 in the second-set tiebreaker, before scoring a 10-5 decision in the third-set tiebreaker.

Despite falling at No. 5 singles, freshman Campbell Owens still posted a gritty effort, falling 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 (5) to Luke Sowell. Owens took a 7-2 decision in the first-set tiebreaker, but lost the final two sets.

Meanwhile, the Lady Rangers shutout Southwest Mississippi with an all-around dominating effort. In doubles competition, Allie Rawles and Grace Ann Wade scored an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, followed by an 8-3 No. 2 doubles win from Raney Peacock and Rivers Tarsi.

Mattie Sanders scored a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, and Holly Stewart followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory of her own at No. 2 singles. Wade and Kendall Moody earned singles wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 slots, while the Lady Rangers won by default at No. 5 singles, No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
