Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RAYMOND - Raney Peacock, Allie Rawles and Grace Ann Wade picked up victories in singles competition, helping the Northwest Lady Rangers to a close 5-4 victory at Hinds on Tuesday.

Northwest was shutout by a 9-0 final in men's competition, falling to 0-2 in the MACCC. The Lady Rangers improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win.

Rawles and Wade swept their singles opponents, while Peacock earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision against Janavia Ellis. Freshman Mattie Sanders also dropped a close match at No. 3 singles, falling 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 to Macie Shelton.

In doubles competition, Peacock and Holly Stewart shut out the Lady Eagles' duo of Ellis and Sydnee Teague on court three. Sanders and Wade also scored an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles against Fabiola Guedez and Lucy Warner.

For the Ranger men, freshman Dallas Lane posted a strong effort at No. 4 singles, falling 6-1, 6-2 to Reese Harper. Campbell Owens also came up short at No. 5 singles, falling 6-2, 6-0 to Logan Gibson.

Northwest also dropped a pair 8-2 decisions at the top two doubles slots.

Northwest will host East Central for its home-opener on Tuesday, February 23. The match will be held at the Ranger Outdoor Complex at 2 P.M.
