PERKINSTON - Northwest fought against the elements in its MACCC/Region 23 playoff battle at Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday evening, but ultimately the host Lady Bulldogs were the ones that came out on top, edging the Rangers in a 1-0 decision.

Leah Bennett netted the lone goal of the match for the opposition in the 24th minute, but the Lady Rangers pressured Mississippi Gulf Coast throughout the second half, remaining within striking distance until the final horn.

Maggie Olive unofficially totaled seven saves in the contest, mostly in the first half. Northwest finished with eight shots, led by three from Molly Rose.

With the loss, Northwest fell to 6-6 overall to conclude coach James Beattie's first season.
