Second Half Setback Results in Lady Rangers' Loss

SUMMIT - Northwest seemed to have no answer for Southwest Mississippi's Juana Wulff in the second half, as the freshman forward provided all three of the Lady Bears' goals in a 3-1 decision against the Lady Rangers on Monday afternoon.

Wulff added two of her goals in the 64th and 79th minutes of the match, breaking the 1-1 draw and dropping Northwest to 1-1 on the season.

After the Lady Bears struck first in the 27th minute, the Lady Rangers responded with less than three minutes later as Ally Bailey connected with Molly Rose, for the freshman's second goal of the season. The match would remain tied through the end of the first half and until midway through the second half.

Even in the loss, the Lady Rangers still came away with a 22-18 advantage in the shots column, but Southwest Mississippi finished 12-9 in shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Olive (1-1) finished with nine saves in the contest, bringing her career total to 109.

Northwest will return to action on Thursday, April 8 for the home opener against Meridian. The match, along with all other home contests, will be held at the Senatobia Sports Park, located off I-55.

Start time is slated for 1 P.M. with live stats available on nwccrangers.com. A determination on live broadcast will be made on match day.
