RAYMOND - After scoring back-to-back goals within the first 15 minutes of action, Hinds added two more goals before the end of the first half, as Northwest fell in a 4-0 decision on Tuesday evening.
With the loss, Northwest dropped to 0-4-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in MACCC North Division competition. Hinds improved to 2-4 overall with the victory and 2-1 in division competition.
Kodai Tanaka provided the Eagles' first goal in the 14th minute with a ball that ricocheted into the right corner of the net. Less than three minutes later, Spencer Cole made it a 2-0 Hinds lead after scoring off a free kick.
Satsuki Mori scored another Hinds goal in the 32nd minute, but the ultimate dagger came from Ryan Theriot just before time expired in the first half, as the Rangers took a 4-0 deficit into the halftime break.
Although the Rangers were unable to break through on the scoreboard, Northwest buckled down defensively in the second half without allowing another goal from the Eagles. Sophomore
Dustin Brown collected 10 saves in his return to the goalkeeper position, his second consecutive match with double-digit saves and the third of his Northwest career.
Hinds outshot Northwest 27-10 and 14-6 on goal. The Rangers were also whistled for 17 fouls against 14 for the Eagles.
