Box Score 2 BOONEVILLE - Northwest unleashed the bats with 26 combined hits, as the fourth-ranked Rangers swept No. 11 Northeast 12-8 and 11-0 in a five-inning run-rule on Wednesday evening.
Kelton Hall led the Rangers with a 3-for-5 effort in the first game and
Hammer Franks mowed down Northeast on the mound for a win in the nightcap.
Northwest improved to 10-8 on the season and 4-4 in the MACCC, while Northeast dropped to 10-10 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Game 1 - #4 Northwest 12, #11 Northeast 8
A pair of four-run innings helped make the difference for Northwest on Wednesday, as the Rangers downed Northeast 12-8 in Game 1.
Northwest got a run on the board in the top of the first and added four more in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead on the Tigers. Northeast responded with three runs in the bottom of the second however, to cut the deficit to 5-3.
After being held scoreless in the third inning, Northwest rebounded for four runs in the top of the fourth to stretch its lead to 9-3. The Tigers clawed back though, plating three runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull within 9-6.
Northeast inched closer with a run in the seventh, only for the Rangers to score three in the eighth. The Tigers added a run in the bottom of the ninth but came no closer, as Rangers' successfully limited the damage.
Hall went 3-for-5 with six RBIs and
Ty Leatherwood,
Peyton Puckett and
Cade Spratlin finished with two hits apiece.
Northwest used five pitchers in the first game, led by a four-inning outing from
Colton Presley, who struck out six batters against three walks and five earned runs.
Jake Savage threw three full innings in relief, finishing with a pair of strikeouts.Â
Northeast finished with eight hits in the contest, led by two apiece from Jacob Compton and Hayden Scarbrough. Ramsey Ivy was handed the loss on the mound after just 1.2 innings of work.
Game 2 - #4 Northwest 11, #11 Northeast 0 (5 inn.)
In his second consecutive outing, Franks was once again as automatic as it comes, as the Mooreville native delivered seven strikeouts against one walk and just one hit in an 11-0 shutout victory for Northwest.
Northwest scored a whopping seven runs in the top of the first inning and added another in the second for an 8-0 lead. The Rangers then added three in the third and kept the Tigers off the board, solidifying the five-inning run-rule.
Northwest used 10 hits and 13 RBIs in the victory, while Ivy accounted for the Tigers' only hit.
Cole Phillips was handed the loss for Northeast, as he allowed 11 earned runs on 10 hits in just 2.2 innings of work.
