SENATOBIA – Four first half goals within a 12-minute stretch helped Meridian set the tone for the rest of the match as the Eagles handed Northwest a 7-0 loss in the Rangers' home opener on Tuesday afternoon.
Northwest fell to 0-3 on the season with the loss while Meridian improved to 1-1.
While Meridian didn't blow the Rangers out in total shots or shots on goal, the Eagles just seemed to keep hitting the mark. Hanlon would add one more before the break to put the Rangers down 4-0 at the break.
Tarek Shafei's penalty kick goal in the 67th minute got the Eagles revved up once again as Meridian added two more in the second half from Cole Woods and Cade Johnson, good for the 7-0 victory.
Northwest was outshot 20-12 and 13-8 on goal.
Tim Spencer netted all six saves for the Rangers in 85 minutes of action.
