DECATUR – Freshman forward
Isabelle Cardenas scored her second career goal in the 66th minute to spoil the shutout in a 3-1 loss to MACJC North Division foe East Central on Friday afternoon.
Northwest dropped to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in division play while East Central improved to 4-2 on the season and 2-2 in the MACJC North.
East Central wasted no time getting on the board as Macey Spencer connected with Leah Anderson for the Lady Warriors' first goal just 28 seconds into the match. While that would be the only score of the first half, ECCC kept the pressure up throughout the first half, outshooting Northwest 15-3.
Less than three minutes into the second half, East Central would find the net once again with Hannah Herren's one-on-one shot, stretching the Lady Warrior advantage to 2-0.
Anderson and Spencer would connect one more time in the 62nd minute to push the Lady Warrior lead to 3-0, before
Katelyn Rock found Cardenas just a few minutes later, cutting the lead to 3-1.
Northwest was outshot 25-6 over the course of the match, 18-4 on goal. Freshman keeper
