Logan Tomlinson dished in an
Ally Bailey pass to tie the match in the 57th minute, but Northwest dropped a tough 3-1 decision on Sophomore Day against East Central.
Northwest fell to 3-11 overall and 2-6 in the MACJC North Division with the loss. East Central bolstered its record to 8-6-1 on the season and 4-4 in division play.
Hannah Herren found Leah Anderson 15 minutes in for the Lady Warriors' first and only goal of the opening half.
Tomlinson's response 12 minutes into the second half helped tie things up at 1-1 but the draw would be short-lived, as Herren scored off a Macey Spencer assist in the 64th minute to put East Central back ahead.
Although the Lady Rangers continued to battle in their home finale, a goal from Mackenzie Alford all but sealed the victory for ECCC in the 87th minute.
East Central outshot Northwest 21-13 overall but the margin was much closer on goal, with ECCC holding just a slight 13-10 advantage.
Maggie Olive totaled 10 saves for the Lady Rangers, her fifth match of the year with 10 or more stops.
Northwest will travel to Southwest Tennessee on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. for the final match of the 2019 season.
