Road Loss Closes Curtain on Lady Rangers' Season

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - Despite striking first on Logan Tomlinson's second career goal, the Northwest women's soccer team surrendered four goals in a 4-1 road loss at Southwest Tennessee on Friday evening.

Tomlinson scored less than 10 minutes into the match off a feed from Katelyn Rock, but Southwest Tennessee delivered the tying response just over a minute later, as Anna Trotter scored off a corner kick.

Tied at 1-1 at halftime, the home team quickly pulled away in the second half with goals in the 53rd and 64th minutes, pushing the Lady Rangers into a 3-1 deficit.

A final goal in the 89th minute added insult to injury as Southwest Tennessee came away with the 4-1 win.

Northwest was outshot 20-9 overall and 10-8 on goal. All three goalkeepers saw action for the Lady Rangers, with Trinity Baynham and Jakeria Wilson splitting time in the second half.

Northwest closes the 2019 campaign at 3-12 overall.
