SENATOBIA – Northwest allowed three goals late in the second half, allowing 13th-ranked Holmes to pull away for a 4-0 victory on Friday afternoon.
Holmes remained unbeaten with the win, improving to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the division. The Lady Rangers fell to 3-5 and 1-3 on the season.
Northwest relied heavily on its defense for a majority of the match as Holmes stayed on the attack, outshooting Northwest 29-3 and 19-2 on goal.
Ja'Laycia Brown gave the Lady Bulldogs their only goal of the first half, rebounding Peyton Montgomery's previous attempt into the net in the 25th minute.
Still clinging to a 1-0 lead, Holmes got some breathing room in the form of a Caseigh Hickman goal in the 73rd minute, stretching the Lady Ranger deficit to 2-0.
Holmes then put away the match with two Zoe Ellis goals in the 84th and 89th minutes, giving Northwest its third straight loss.
Sophomore
Angel Hailey collected a season-high 15 saves in the loss.
