Angel Hailey tallied a career-high 18 saves and Northwest battled Itawamba for a full 90 minutes before dropping a 2-0 decision Tuesday afternoon to the rival Lady Indians.
Itawamba locked up a playoff spot with the win and improved to 9-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the north while Northwest fell to 4-8-1 and 2-4 in division play with two matches remaining.
Grace Joyce delivered her 11th goal for Itawamba in the game's 14th minute, off a Lexi Pund assist, and the 1-0 lead would hold for the next 70 minutes.
Northwest had some chances to tie the match in the first half, with
Cheyenne Smith unlucky on two attempts.
ICC extended its lead to 2-0 in the 83rd minute when Sarah Whitt connected on a penalty kick. Just minutes earlier, Ally Shinall hit the post.
The Lady Indians outshot Northwest 27-7 and owned a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
Northwest will wrap up its home schedule on Friday, October 12, playing host to Hinds at 1 p.m.
