Lady Rangers Drop Division-Opener to Holmes

SENATOBIA – Four second half goals for visiting Holmes, including a hat-trick from Madison Deslatte, lifted the Lady Bulldogs to a 6-0 north division win over Northwest on Tuesday afternoon.

Holmes improved to 4-0 overall, 2-0 in division play, while Northwest evened its season record to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the north.

Goals by Kendal Walsh and Courtney Turner in the 10th and 40th minutes gave Holmes a 2-0 lead at the break.

Lauren Snyder had the Lady Rangers' best shot at an early lead, but her attempt sailed just high over the crossbar in the 9th minute.

Holmes then piled it on in the second half, scoring two quick goals in a three-minute span to take a 4-0 lead. Deslatte scored the final three goals for Holmes in the 52nd, 56th and 66th minutes to finish with a hat-trick and 6-0 Lady Bulldog win.

Holmes outshot Northwest 23-10 and owned a 10-3 edge in corner kicks. The Lady Bulldogs were whistled for an overwhelming 17 fouls against just six for Northwest.

The Lady Rangers hit the road Friday, traveling to East Central for a 1 p.m. kick.
