SENATOBIA – The Northwest women's tennis team dropped a home 9-0 decision to 21st-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday afternoon.
Gulf Coast improved to 11-3 on the season with the win and Northwest fell to 1-4 overall with the loss.
Gulf Coast swept all three doubles points and followed with three straight set victories in singles play. The Rangers posted good efforts on the other three courts but it wasn't enough to upend a strong Lady Bulldog team.
Piper Johnson battled
Katie Burrall to a 7-6(2), 6-2 defeat at No. 3 singles for the Lady Rangers' best chance.
Northwest will host Holmes on Friday at 10 a.m.
