Lady Rangers Blanked at No. 17 Holmes 2-0

RIDGELAND – A pair of second half goals from Taylor Gagneaux and Pepper Ann Filbert helped lift No. 17 Holmes to a 2-0 victory against Northwest on Friday.

Northwest fell to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in division play, while Holmes improved to 10-0-1 and 5-0-1 in the MACJC North.

Both teams were held scoreless in the first half, though the Lady Bulldogs did get off 10 shots while Northwest was limited to just four.

Holmes came out strong in the second half, as Brooke Burrell connected with Gagneaux on a 25-yard boomer into the net in the 49th minute. 

Filbert would then boost the Lady Bulldog lead in the 57th minute to the 2-0 final score.

Northwest was outshot 27-6 in the match, despite finishing with four shots on goal. 

Liv Nault and Angel Hailey both finished with eight saves apiece in the contest.

Northwest will continue its north division push as the Lady Rangers host East Central on Wednesday, Oct. 11. First kick is scheduled at 1 p.m. and live stats will be available at nwccrangers.com.
