SENATOBIA – A first half goal from East Central's Eleanor Jones was the difference as the Northwest women's soccer team fell 1-0 in its home-opener on Wednesday afternoon.

Northwest fell to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the division with the loss, while ECCC remained unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the north. 

Jones found the net from 35 yards out in the 20th minute to give East Central the 1-0 advantage.

Despite a 27-5 shot advantage, including 10 shots on goal, that would be the only goal of the afternoon for the Lady Warriors. 

Ivy Cook finished the afternoon with nine saves for the Lady Rangers, tying a career high. 

Northwest will continue its homestand against Holmes (3-0, 1-0 north) on Friday, Sept. 9. First kick is slated for 1 p.m.
