DECATUR – Playing its second match in a mere 24 hours, the Northwest men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 road decision at East Central Saturday morning.
Northwest fell to 5-5 on the season while East Central improved to 4-8.
The doubles pair of
Zak Harbin/
Dalton Young scored the Rangers' lone doubles point, 8-5, improving to 6-3 at No. 2, but Northwest trailed 2-1 after doubles play.
Harbin and Young continued their impressive freshman campaigns with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 and 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4. Young improved to 9-0 and Harbin moved to 8-1 with the victory.
ECCC picked up wins at Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 6 to close out a 6-3 win.
Weather permitting, Northwest will return to action on Tuesday, April 12 against Copiah-Lincoln at 2 p.m.
