SENATOBIA – Northwest stumbled at home on Monday afternoon in women's tennis action, dropping a 9-0 decision to Itawamba at the Ranger Outdoor Complex.
Northwest fell to 2-4 on the season with the loss while Itawamba improved to 7-1 overall.
Although the Lady Indians quickly took the first two matches in doubles play, the Lady Rangers made ICC work for the match at the No. 1 position. The effort from
Katie Burrall and
Piper Johnson wasn't enough to salvage the win, however, as Itawamba swept doubles competition with the 8-6 win on No. 1.
Singles competition was also dominated by Itawamba as the Lady Indians collected all six singles victories.
Northwest will look to get back on the winning track on Thursday, March 31 as the Lady Rangers welcome Copiah-Lincoln (2-4) to The ROC for a 2 p.m. first serve.
