SENATOBIA – Two doubles victories and four singles wins was all Northwest needed to claim its third consecutive victory, defeating Itawamba 6-3 on Monday afternoon at The ROC.
Northwest moved to 4-2 on the season with the win, while Itawamba dropped to 3-5.
The Rangers claimed two doubles victories, as
Zak Harbin and
Dalton Young picked up their fourth doubles win of the season at the No. 2 position. The Ranger combo of
Luke Wilson and
Thomas Hall also earned their third win of the season on court three, taking an 8-6 victory over ICC's Lane Brandon and Cameron Shumpert.
Although Itawamba was victorious at the No. 1 and 2 slots in singles competition, the Rangers swept the remaining four courts to seal the 6-3 victory. Harbin captured his fifth straight win, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 4 position and improved to 5-1 on the season. With their individual wins on courts three and six, Young moved to 5-1 overall while Wilson earned his third consecutive singles victory.
Northwest will host Copiah-Lincoln on Thursday, March 31. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
