SENATOBIA – Fresh off a road victory at Northeast earlier in the week, the Lady Rangers found themselves in the win column again with a 7-2 decision over Holmes at the Ranger Outdoor Complex (The ROC) on Thursday.
Northwest collected its second consecutive victory of the season and improved to 2-3 overall.
Northwest was led in doubles play by an 8-2 victory on court one from the freshman duo of
Katie Burrall and
Piper Johnson.
Emily Newman and
Emily Standard notched an 8-3 decision at the No. 3 slot to help the Lady Rangers take a 2-1 advantage after doubles competition.
There was no slowdown for the Lady Rangers in singles play as Northwest claimed five of the six singles matches on the day. Johnson also improved her season singles record to 3-2 with the 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 2 position. Burrall, Newman, Standard and McCoy each collected wins on Nos. 1, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
Northwest will return to action on Monday against Itawamba (6-1) at 2 p.m.
