SENATOBIA – Leading 2-1 after doubles play, Northwest claimed four singles victories to defeat Holmes 6-3 on Thursday afternoon at the Ranger Outdoor Complex (The ROC).
Northwest improved to 3-2 on the season with the win.
Things started off right for the Rangers in doubles play, as the freshman duo of
Zak Harbin and
Dalton Young collected their third doubles victory of the season with an 8-2 win on court two. Sophomores
Thomas Hall and
Luke Wilson claimed an 8-2 decision at the No. 3 slot that gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead.
Singles competition was also kind to the Rangers as Northwest collected four of the six matches, solidifying the 6-3 victory against the Bulldogs.
Zak Harbin and Young each earned their fourth consecutive singles wins of the season, while Wilson also notched his second straight victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 6 position.
Northwest will be in action on Monday to host Itawamba (3-4) at 2 p.m.
