Sara Lytle posted her second straight double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds and 10 Lady Rangers in all scored at least one basket as Northwest raced past Mississippi Delta, 82-55, Thursday night at Howard Coliseum.
Northwest improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the north division while Mississippi Delta fell to 1-12 and 0-3.
After an early 4-4 tie at the 7:01-mark of the first quarter, it was all Northwest. The Lady Rangers led by nine after a quarter of play and 38-25 at the half.
The lead ballooned to 71-42 with 6:42 to play and Northwest was able to cruise to the finish line.
Northwest won the battle on the boards (59-46), at the free throw line (21-11) and in the turnover column (16-24).
Behind Lytle's fifth double-double of the season and seventh of her career,
Janesha Johnson had 15 and
Destiny Gardner added 13 points and eight rebounds. India Sims had 13 points and 13 boards to lead the Lady Trojans.
Northwest will hit the road next Tuesday, Jan. 19, traveling to Coahoma for a 6 p.m. tip in Clarksdale.
