NEW ALBANY – The Northwest women's tennis team added another win against Northeast on Monday morning at BNA Park, knocking off the Lady Tigers 8-1 to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Kaylan Cooper and
Derravia Carpenter all contributed to the 5-1 pounding during singles play. Cooper smashed Erica Whitten 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 while Magee had to go to a second set tiebreak at No. 3 singles against Alma Manzano but pulled out a 6-4, 6-6 (8-6) win.

Chelsea Jarrell/M. Jarrell and Cooper/Carpenter swept Northeast 3-0 in doubles by 8-6, 8-5 and 8-2 finals, respectively.
Northwest will be back home at The ROC to take on 21st-ranked Itawamba on Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m.
