SENATOBIA – Northwest successfully opened the 2015 women's tennis season on Monday at The ROC, dismantling Northeast 7-2 to win its third straight home match dating back to last season.
The match opened with singles play first, with the Lady Rangers taking four of six. Northeast's two wins came at No. 3 and No. 6 singles by way of Alma Manzano and Lindsey Clark.
Freshman
Chelsea Jarrell was impressive in her Lady Ranger debut, winning 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. Northwest followed with wins by
Madison Jarrell,
Kaylan Cooper and
Anna Rosenbaum at No.'s 2, 4 and 6.
The Lady Rangers then swept all three doubles points to take the match 7-2.
Northwest will return to action on Monday, March 23 against Holmes. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
