RIDGELAND – Two first half goals from Kylee Laird and Micaela Robinson helped lift Holmes to a 2-0 victory against Northwest on Tuesday afternoon at Freedom Ridge Park.
Holmes improved to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in north division play, while Northwest fell to 3-9-2 and 1-4 in the division.
Holmes finished with a 12-6 advantage in the shot column, with Northwest earning just four shots on goal, compared to 10 from the Lady Bulldogs.
Laird broke the scoreless tie for Holmes in the 14th minute, firing in a kick from 25 yards out. Later, in the 26th minute, Laird connected with Robinson in the box for the second and final goal of the contest.
Taylor Selby and 
Tristan Kitchens led the Lady Rangers with two shots apiece, including two shots on goal from Kitchens.
Sophomore keeper 
Ashley Nelson finished with eight saves for the Lady Rangers, bringing her season total to 97 and 232 for her career. Emily Murray had four saves and a clean sheet for Holmes. 
Northwest will try and bounce back Friday, as the Lady Rangers host division foe East Central at 1 p.m.
