Northwest moved to 5-0-1 overall (1-0-1 north), while Hinds moved to 2-1-1 overall (1-0-1 north). The Lady Rangers have now outscored their opponents 24-1 on the year through six matches.
Hinds dominated the match statistically, owning a 38-12 shot advantage, including 16-8 shots-on-goal. In the first half alone, Hinds had 15 shots compared to Northwest's four, however, the match remained scoreless. Goalkeeper
Ashley Nelson made seven crucial saves to keep the Lady Rangers in it early.
Hinds broke a scoreless tilt in the 52nd minute when Jayden Gardner used an assist from Darien Ellison, but Northwest responded six minutes later at the 57:15-mark to tie it.
Abigail Morales found her 10th goal of the season off a pass to the center of the box from
Kayla Boutwell.
The score sat at 1-1 through two extra 10-minute halves and the match ended in a draw.
Nelson collected a career-high 15 saves against seven for Hinds' Chelsey Williams.
The Lady Rangers return to action on Friday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. against an undefeated East Central team.
