Lady Rangers Split Weekend Matches

vs Copiah-Lincoln | vs Hinds

SENATOBIA – The Northwest women's tennis team split a pair of matches this weekend, defeating Copiah-Lincoln 6-3 before dropping an 8-1 decision to Hinds.

Northwest is now 2-4 on the season and will host Northeast on Tuesday, March 25.

On Friday, Northwest led 2-1 after the doubles points thanks to wins by Anna Rosenbaum/Ashley Roberson 9-7 and Hannah Switzer/Derravia Carpenter 8-4.

Co-Lin pulled ahead 3-2 with wins at No.'s 1 and 6 singles before Northwest rolled off four straight wins at No.'s 2-5 singles. Roberson won a tie-break 6-3, 8-6 (10-8) and Macey Magee also won a tie-break 6-2, 7-5 (12-10). 

Hinds was too much on Saturday, sweeping the doubles points and taking an 8-1 victory.

Northwest's lone win came at No. 4 singles by Hannah Switzer, 6-1, 6-3 over Jessica Parker. The sophomore improved to a perfect 6-0 this season in singles play.
