Rangers Maul Lady Buffaloes

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SENATOBIA – Northwest ran its home winning streak out to eight games on Tuesday with a lopsided doubleheader sweep over Arkansas Baptist by 18-0 and 16-1 run-rule finals.

Northwest moved to 14-5 overall while Arkansas Baptist fell to 0-4. 

In the opener, the Lady Rangers batted just twice, scoring five runs in the first and 13 runs in the second inning for a mercy rule win in three innings.

Sade Jenkins hit a leadoff double for the Lady Buffaloes to start the game before Lydia Dias retired eight of the final nine batters she faced, including five going down on strikes, to improve to 3-1 on the year in the circle.

Ten different Rangers had hits in the win, led by Kendall Alford and Naomi Newcom with two apiece.

Northwest pitched by committee in the second game, as four different Rangers tossed an inning and allowed just three hits and struck out eight combined. 

The Rangers had 12 hits in the second game, led by Micalah Beall who was 3-for-3. 

Northwest will enjoy a few days off for spring break before returning to the field Monday, March 17 in Jackson, Tenn. The Rangers will face No. 13 Des Moines Area at 1 p.m. and host Jackson State CC at 3 p.m.
